Imagine a world filled with silence, being unable to share a laugh or conversations with friends and family. This is hearing loss, a silent disability that affects more than 31.5 million people in the U.S. Fortunately, about 95 percent of those suffering from hearing loss can be helped with the use of hearing aids, according to the American Speech Language Hearing Association.
Gift of Hearing Program
A Word from Dr. Stephany Sun
“This is our way of giving back and a great opportunity to significantly change the life of someone living without the joy of sound. I am honored to have the resources and the ability to make a difference in someone’s life. It’s the best way I know how to give back to the community.”
However, due to various financial hardships, many hard of hearing individuals in our community are not able to afford proper treatment. At Southern Medical Hearing Centers, we know how important hearing is to a person’s overall health, sense of well being and the ability to provide for oneself. We want to give back to our community and have created the Gift of Hearing Program. A portion of all hearing aids sold through our centers will go toward providing hearing technology to those in need in our community.
Our goal is to donate a free pair of hearing instruments and provide service to two deserving people in our community each year. The Gift of Hearing participants will be selected based on the following:
- Hearing Need/Degree of Hearing Loss
- Financial Need
- Opportunity to impact recipient’s life
